My husband and I have just celebrated our 39th anniversary. During that period of time, we have been blessed to have created so many beautiful structures, both primary residences and vacation homes.
It was a huge decision for us to build in Charleston at this stage of our lives. We knew that this home would be our last real estate hurrah, so to speak. Therefore, it became really important for this place to be very special.
I am creative in so many ways, being a decades long, avid collector of pottery, glass, wood and original paintings. I have also been a long time, micro manager of each place we have built. I did not want this to be the case with Charleston, since our primary residence is in NC. and long distance is always a complication. So, the building process with our designer had to be a good fit for us.
It became evident immediately that the our custom home in Charleston could be the easiest and most beautiful we could imagine. At our initial meeting with Southeastern Family Homes, we knew we had made the right decision. We met Elyssa St. Pierre and immediately felt safe. She listened intently to our history and the desires for our new home. I was quickly impressed with her creativity and ability to take our ideas and perfect and implement them. She was talented beyond my wildest dreams. I became so comfortable with this lovely young woman that she and I could just look at each other during meetings and, with the nod of a head, a decision was made. As is the case with any custom home, nuances arise. I was so comfortable with Elyssa that I would tell vendors that I deferred to her decisions. Her ideas were fresh and young, yet they reflected the end product desired by us as homeowners.
In this home, I really needed to have some “wow” factors. I asked Elyssa to make this happen and she did! Oh my, one of the the most beautiful things in the home is a ceiling design in the dining room – it is a gorgeous focal point mentioned by all who see it.
We are at the end of our Charleston custom home journey. Thanks to Southeastern Family Homes and Elyssa St. Pierre, we are embarking upon one of the most exciting and fulfilling adventures we could imagine.
We highly recommend Elyssa St. Pierre and all persons affiliated with her.
